The Chinese University of Hong Kong is #36 in the QS World University Rankings and #44 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The Department of Cultural and Religious Studies comprises of 3 units: Cultural Studies, Religious Studies and Theology. This position is primarily associated with Cultural Studies.
With the aim to promote faculty diversity and enriching students learning experience, the Department invites applications for Visiting Scholars/ Professors, with focus in Cultural Studies, Cultural Management, or Public Humanities, for Academic Year 2025-26.
Visiting Scholars/ Professors are expected to teach two full courses per term (approximately 6 contact hours per week combined) for either the MA Programme in Cultural Management and/or MA Programme in Intercultural Studies. Applicants must be a full-time professorial academic staff (Assistant Professor and above) in a recognized academic institution at the time of visit. Full Professors will be considered for the title of Visiting Professor.
The appointment(s) will be made on contract basis for four months (one term). Applicants should indicate in their cover letter if they prefer to visit in Term 1 (September – December 2025) or Term 2 (January – April 2026). The salary will be highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Airfare to and from the home institution (economy class) and an on-campus office will also be provided.
