The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTMT) at the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC) invites applications for the full-time tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Food and Beverage Management. The successful candidate should possess expertise in Food and Beverage Management, with a strong focus on teaching and research. This is a 9-month position, consisting of key duties and responsibilities reflected as follows:
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop and sustain a program of excellence in research and teaching, build research interests in Food and Beverage Management. Possess an active research agenda with demonstrated ability to generate impactful, peer-reviewed research in premier outlets, strong evidence of (or potential to attract) external funding. Provide mentoring and guidance to students in the major, collaborate with other departmental faculty in the general mission of the unit, serve on Department, College, or University committees as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline by the start date of employment. A demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality classroom instruction.
Initial review of applicants will commence November 18, 2024 and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date of the appointment is August 16, 2025. Salary is 86K – 91K. The required application documents for consideration include: 1) a letter of intent describing how your academic and professional experiences match the position, and (2) a current curriculum vitae, 3) statement of teaching philosophy and experience, 4) statement of research agenda, emphasizing food & beverage applications in hospitality and tourism. Only candidates selected to final round interviews will be required to submit three letters of recommendation (sent directly to the search chair from the referee); each must be (1) on official letterhead and have (2) physical signatures (cannot be a typed name).
