The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business invites applications for a full-time position as either a tenure-track or a non-tenure-track position in agricultural leadership, beginning in the 2025-26 academic year. The Beacom School of Business is the flagship business school in South Dakota and the region with its programs consistently receiving high national rankings from institutions such as U.S. News and World Report, Princeton Review and others. The successful candidate is expected to teach agricultural leadership and management related courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An interest in teaching strategy, leadership, and agriculture related courses is desired. The professor is expected to bring a unique and innovative educational experience to students through classroom teaching and mentorship. As such, there is the opportunity for student engagement through mentoring student activities outside the classroom. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in the traditional and online environments. Duties include an annual teaching load of 5 to 7 classes dependent on rank, engaging in related scholarly research, and service for the department, profession, and broader community. Required: A graduate degree in agricultural leadership or a related field. Candidates must have a record of or potential for contribution to the scholarship in their field. Other requirements are proficiency in oral and written communication, and enthusiasm for engagement, service, and the public good. Preferred Qualifications: Business experience and a PhD in a related field. Additionally, candidates with enthusiasm for working with different groups of students, staff, and faculty are strongly preferred.
