Medical Academic Positions

Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU; www.mbru.ac.ae) is part of the newly established Dubai Health (DH). DH is an integrated academic health system established to elevate the standard of care and to advance health for humanity. It is comprised of 6 hospitals, 26 ambulatory health centers, 20 medical fitness centers, MBRU and Al Jalila Research Foundation. DH seeks to strengthen Dubai as a global leader in health care, medical education, research, and scientific innovation, to enhance the capabilities of Dubai’s healthcare sector.

MBRU seeks to develop, attract, and retain exceptional medical education, clinical and research talent, and provide a supportive environment for scientific and clinical research that improves health. MBRU offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through its colleges. The College of Medicine offers an innovative 6–year MD [formerly known as MB, BS] program, open to all nationalities. The language of instruction is English. Queen’s University Belfast is MBRU’s international academic partner.

The College of Medicine at MBRU is soliciting applications for positions at all academic ranks in Anatomy, Anatomic Pathology, Psychiatry and Biostatistics to join faculty delivering the MD and research programs.

Faculty members will be working in an academic and healthcare environment located in the heart of Dubai, a major travel hub with direct flight connections to most major cities.

Our strategic partner, Al Jalila Foundation (www.aljalilafoundation.ae) facilitates access to research grants and research facilities in a number of disciplines. We also have clinical affiliation agreements in the region with Mediclinic Middle East, Kings Hospital Dubai and Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital where our faculty practice and our students get their clinical training.

MBRU offers competitive compensation packages, including tuition fee support for children’s education and air travel tickets for faculty and eligible family members.

Successful candidates must hold Certificate of Completion of Training (CTT) [UK] or Board Certification [e.g. US, Canada, Australia]; or PhD from a recognized institution in a relevant subject; or equivalent.

It is also desirable for successful candidates to have:

Academic experience either primarily as a medical educator and /or a researcher at a recognized university (at least five years for Associate Professor position and at least 10 years for Full Professor position) Significant experience in undergraduate medical education including the design, delivery and organization of good quality teaching and assessments.
