The Department of Cybersecurity and Information Technology at the University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola, Florida invites applications for three full-time, tenure-track positions in Cybersecurity (Position # 102890, 128800, 104390) at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2025.

 

Candidates may also be considered for credit toward time on tenure-track based on experience.

 

For the three positions, we are interested in applicants from all areas in cybersecurity, computer science, or related fields, including, but not limited to, system and network security, software security, and artificial intelligence. Applicants in all computing related field will be considered.

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment and a strong commitment to teaching, academic research, and service. The ideal candidate will be able to teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses for the programs in the department, develop a strong research program, be a mentor to students, and be an active member of the department, contributing to its success and the mission of the university. The appointment starts in August, 2025. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

The Department of Cybersecurity and Information Technology offers Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs that have been accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. UWF and its Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity have been designated as an NSA/DHS Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). At the graduate level, the department offers Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Master of Science in Information Technology programs. Students in our programs enjoy the personal attention of faculty members in all facets of their education.
