Research Assistant/Analyst
Job Summary
Our research group, led by Dr. Yelena Wu at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, is seeking a Research Assistant/Analyst (RA) to join our energetic team. The RA will be responsible for supporting a research study on skin cancer prevention among college students in Utah. The study tests new ways to alert college students to their skin cancer risk, with the hopes of motivating their use of skin cancer prevention behaviors. The RA will work closely with Dr. Wu, as well as the other principal investigator (Dr. Jennifer Hay at Memorial Sloan Kettering) and collaborators nationally and locally. The RA will also work with a collaborative research team while under supervision of a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC). The position will likely follow a schedule consisting of two in-person workdays a week, with a maximum hourly commitment of 19 hours per week. Job activities include, but are not limited to, assisting with participant-facing research study visits, following pre-determined protocols and procedures to advance an ongoing clinical trial, and assisting the CRC with data analysis, manuscripts, presentations and grant preparation.
Other studies on the team include behavioral research studies (e.g., randomized controlled trials) funded by the National Institutes of Health and American Cancer Society focused on skin cancer prevention among children and families, including in school settings and via telehealth.
Huntsman Cancer Institute is committed to cancer prevention, care, and survivorship for all communities within the area we serve - which includes Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming - with impact worldwide.
In your cover letter or during your interview process, we invite you to share how your professional experiences have prepared you to serve as a member of our team as we work to reduce the cancer burden experienced by all people and communities. This may include description of your prior experiences related to research, prevention, clinical care, community engagement/outreach, training, administration, or other areas relevant to Huntsman Cancer Institute's mission and this position.
