James Madison University, a public university in Harrisonburg, Virginia, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next director of the Office of Equal Opportunity. This position is an on-site leadership role.

Founded in 1908, James Madison University is a public university in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, serving over 22,000 students. Reporting to the associate vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the director for the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) supervises three employees and facilitates the resolution of informal and formal complaints of harassment and discrimination. In addition, the individual will provide training for the campus to maintain a safe and productive campus climate.

The salary is $100,000-$105,000, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or higher education and progressive leadership experience in one of the following areas is required: affirmative action, compliance, human resources, or inclusion work. Additional requirements include experience with managing compliance-based administrative tasks and processes in service to complainants, respondents, and the institution that are related to claims of protected class discrimination; current knowledge on trends and issues in higher education; familiarity with federal and state laws and policies (EEOC); and the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
