Assistant Professor of Education
Job Summary
We seek a talented individual passionate about teaching, invested in student success, and eager to develop pre-service teachers in an undergraduate Education program. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, we invite you to apply for a renewable (non-tenure) track faculty position to begin August 20, 2025. Review of applications will begin November 15, 2024, and continue until the position is filled.
Principle Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach Education courses, observe student teachers, and evaluate pre-service teacher candidates. Responsibilities include teaching, recruitment events, and collaborating with faculty colleagues in administrative responsibilities to support licensure and accreditation. Teaching assignments include courses in educational theory, content area methods, literacy, and other courses as assigned. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students and service including, but not limited to, participating in program committees. Required Skills:
The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of current pedagogical theories and strategies, the ability to build relationships with students and colleagues, and a genuine desire to prepare students for successful teaching careers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education or a related discipline. At least three years of teaching experience in grades PK-12. Candidates who hold a doctorate or are ABD are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in state accreditation, social studies pedagogy, or teaching children with exceptionalities are also encouraged to apply.
