The Department of Applied Mathematics and Physics seeks applicants for a Limited Term non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer for Spring 2025 semester beginning January 1, 2025, and ending May 12, 2025.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise as well as participating in service within the department, College and University levels. We are seeking applicants with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Housed in the College of Science and Mathematics, the department is composed of 11 tenured faculty and 5 lecturers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching up to 15 credits (5 classes) and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree at the time of appointment in Mathematics or Statistics, or closely related field with 18 hours of graduate work in Mathematics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
  • A record of mentoring students.
