T he Film and Television Production, Editing program at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor or Artistic Assistant Professor position starting in August 2025.

Responsibilities
- Instruct undergraduate and graduate-level courses in post-production and editing
- Guide editors through pre-production, production, and post with particular emphasis upon collaboration with key creatives
- Mentor students throughout their academic career in editing, workflow, and internship assignments
- Mentor Students on incorporating temporary sound FX and music for the presentation of first cuts and director’s cuts
Required
- Graduate or terminal degree (Master of Fine Arts) in film production and/or substantial professional experience in visual editing on narrative feature films, television, and documentaries
- Has professional experience editing in Avid
- Knowledge of post-production sound
- Commitment to teaching full-time and university service
- Significant teaching experience
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Resolve
- Industry-standard post-production workflow

The salary range for this position is $95,000-$105,000. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. This position is contingent on final budget approval.
