Job Description:
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Athletics Event Worker position for the 2024-2025 season. This fixed term position (August - May) position will assist game day management staff in various capacities such as operating the penalty box, helping with scoreboard operations, and other tasks as assigned.
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with facility setup and breakdown for various sports
throughout the academic year
- Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific
game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA
rules.
- During events, the worker may have to interact with and work
alongside the following: Athletic Communications staff, Event
Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions
staff.
- In-game responsibilities include but not limited to: ball
person for outdoor sports, floor mop during basketball games,
penalty box operator during hockey, and assisting with the
distribution of judge scores during gymnastics
events.
Qualifications
- This position requires a knowledge of, or demonstrated
ability to learn, specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy
League and NCAA rules.
- Must be able to observe and react quickly to events on the
field/court/athletic venue.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and
inclusive environment.
- Must be available to work evenings and
weekends.
