Job Summary:
This position provides additional support to the Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Marketing. Under direct supervision, the position is responsible for expanding the divisions capacity for technical support from ITS providing PeopleSoft query development, reporting and analytical supports, technical configuration, Cal State Apply administration, documentations, and Customer Relationship Management implementation and administration. It also backfills the position of Enterprise Service Management maintaining existing workflow and participating new system implementation.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Under the supervision and guidance of the Lead
Programmer/Analyst and in collaboration with PeopleSoft Expert
developers, within a limited scope, provide Administrative Systems
& Technical Support for campus Admissions Offices
(Undergraduate, Graduate, International):
Peoplesoft Technical and Functional Support - - Consult with functional users and more senior level
programmers, to provide programming, functional and systems support
for all campus Admissions offices (Undergraduate, Graduate,
International) and related departments (Orientation, Coyote First
STEP, EOP) and other departments and units as assigned which
includes, but is not limited to: requirements
collection/specification, systems analysis, programming,
modification to existing applications, developing new applications,
communications, Web and electronic forms design and
implementation.
- Provide input on technical challenges and business processes to
increase efficiency.
- Develop basic queries in PeopleSoft for enrollment reporting,
enrollment management and business intelligence in support of many
campus offices/departments.
Cal State Apply/Liaison WebAdMIT Administration & Support — - Provide technical and functional support for Cal State Apply
application system. Coordinate associated PeopleSoft interfaces,
integrations, processes and jobs (application downloading for all
admissions offices, supplemental application information, new term
& new cycle setup). CIA/Security implementer for Cal State
Apply accounts.
- Refer final decision to more senior staff.
Documentation — - Create process and workflow diagrams to document, define and
evaluate business processes based on business requirements and best
practices, and map against administrative software
functionality.
- Document query/report & project work and submit production
change requests. Develop specifications and review user
requirements to ensure requirements are met and design
user-friendly interfaces to systems, applications, processes and
databases.
- Design reporting formats and train or assist staff in running
reports using various software tools and custom
applications.
- Participate in other areas as assigned in compliance with the
classification standards.
Under the supervision and guidance of the Lead Programmer/Analyst and in collaboration with PeopleSoft Expert developers, within a limited scope, provide:
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Administration & Support — - Co-administer, with more senior programmer, CRM systems under
The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Marking - As
the campus CIA implementer for campus CRM, manage and create roles
and access permissions for SEMM staff, manage data integration
programs and processes, and ensure data integrity of the CRM
Database.
- Assist career level programmers with consulting with
individuals and departments to design and execute forms, processes
and/or communications within the Campus CRM to benefit the
department.
Provide assistance & support for staff using the CRM — - Create queries/filters and scheduled jobs, import prospect and
applicant data, along with managing and updating content for the
public-facing pages and forms (Application Forms, Inquiry Forms,
Event Registration Forms).
- Work with vendor and account manager on technical support
issues when necessary.
- Refer final decision to more senior staff.
CRM Communication Management — - Design and deploy e-mail campaigns and communication
plans.
- Execute communication campaigns on behalf of admissions offices
and various other campus departments by request.
Under direct supervision and guidance, the incumbent will assist, within a limited scope, the following duties of system development and refer problems to senior staff: - Foundational level development for the Enterprise Service
Management (ESM) system by addressing common problems of limited
scope.
- Under direct supervision, the incumbent will meet with
departments to understand their service offerings, design process
workflows, develop digital forms, build custom solutions, and
onboard and train on the ESM platform.
- Assist career level staff and above in collaboration with
departments to evaluate, automize and improve processes in ESM to
improve efficiency.
- Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures and
refer to appropriate party for resolution.
- Entry level ability to write programming scripts to enhance
functionality and/or performance of company applications as
necessary. Supervisor or lead will approve any script before being
placed into production.
- Collaborate with other team members working on issues to reduce
duplicated efforts.
- Demonstrate ability to identify new ways of achieving each
project's user experience and security goals while referring final
solutions to more senior staff.
- Assist with exporting and importing data out of/into the campus
ESM as needed. Scripting may be required to customize the data
depending on the other system requirements. Scripts will be
approved by more senior staff before being placed into
production.
- Perform all other classification-related duties as
assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information
systems, or business, or equivalent training and applied
experience.
Required Qualifications: - Basic foundation of knowledge and skills in applications
programming and systems analysis and related programming support
functions is a prerequisite.
- Foundation knowledge and skills for the Analyst/Programmer,
depending on the position assignment, may include working knowledge
of a specific industry standard applications programming language
and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques.
Preferred Qualifications: - One year of Information Technology experience.
- Great customer service skills.
- Ability to manage time and priorities.
- Reading and comprehending, writing, communicating verbally,
reasoning and analyzing
- Experience in developing processes to test, evaluate, and
recommend the use of computing technologies.
- Previous development and administrative experience of
PeopleSoft processes
- Understand relation database and Structure Query
Language
- Proficiency in hardware and software technologies
- Ability to pay attention to details and to meet deadlines and
milestones
- Patience and well-developed interpersonal relations
skills
- Previous professional experience working in a higher education
environment is highly desired.
Compensation and Benefits:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,094 per month
Classification Hirting Range : $ 4,094 - $ 7,881.00 per month
Work Schedule: Academic Year: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, Summer: 7am - 5:30pm, Monday - Thursday
The salary offered will take into account internal equity and experience among other factors.
