Job Description:
The Job Coach will provide one-on-one internship and employment support to students participating in the InclusiveU program. They will assist students by offering guidance to help them understand job tasks, workplace culture, and employer expectations while students are participating in their internship placements and in other job opportunities on and off campus. This position will ensure that the appropriate job accommodations and strategies have been implemented at the worksite. The Job Coach will be responsible for documentation and maintaining accurate notes to record student progress. Additionally, the Job Coach will assist students in identifying and developing employment opportunities and support applying to jobs, resume writing and interview preparation. This role requires strong organizational skills, time management, and effective communication with multiple stakeholders.

This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to students at their internship site offering guidance and support to help students understand job tasks, workplace culture, and employer expectations.
  • Assist in addressing challenges by supporting the student in problem-solving and implementing solutions.
  • Implement job accommodations and strategies to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate notes to record student progress.
  • Assist students through vocational assessments to determine skill strengths and barriers.
  • Assist students to identify and develop employment opportunities by helping with job applications, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Develop individualized employment plans in collaboration with students to help plan for transition after graduation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
