Summary Information:
The Area of Information Systems and Quantitative Sciences (ISQS) in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Professor of Practice in Data Science and Information Systems position at all levels (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice), starting September 2025.
At Texas Tech University, the Professor of Practice title is used to recruit individuals with exceptional backgrounds and achievements in academic, business, government, or other professional practice. Primary responsibilities normally will be to teach in an area of expertise, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
Required Qualifications:
In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across all areas of teaching, and/or research/creative activity, and/or service.
Specific required qualifications are:

The candidates should possess a master’s or higher degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
The candidates should have knowledge and experience of using Generative AI and large language models either academically or in the industry and be willing to develop and teach Generative AI in business and information systems courses to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Successful candidates should have outstanding communication skills and be able to translate complex technical content into formats that resonate within a business context.

Having industrial experience of developing and/or managing Generative AI applications;
Having experience of, or interest in, teaching courses related to Web design, application development, enterprise architecture and system integration.
