Position Purpose

The Program Manager, Educational Access and Equity will implement, manage, and expand a portfolio of the Center’s community-based learning programming focused on educational access and mentoring, immersion trips and curricular engagements. This work includes but is not limited to supporting: SEAD (Strengthening Educational Access with Dartmouth); educational immersion experiences, both domestic and international; opportunities for social impact tied to Dartmouth’s curriculum (SIPs); Youth Education and Mentoring ( YEM ) programs; and volunteerism opportunities with social sector partners throughout the Upper Valley.

The position includes program management, program development, curriculum-building, event/trip planning, and student advising. The Program Manager will work closely with the Center’s Associate Director to support the design and development of additional programming that deepens student learning and community impact and increases the diversity of Dartmouth students involved. The position requires a candidate with deep commitment to educational access, a fundamentally collaborative work style, strong execution and program management skills, and the capacity to serve as an inspiring role model and mentor to Dartmouth students.

This is an exciting position with substantial growth opportunities for someone interested in social justice with an eye toward educational equity. The position includes program management, program development, curriculum-building, event/trip planning, and student advising. The Program Manager will work closely with the Center’s Associate Director to support the design and development of additional programming that deepens student learning and community impact, and increases the breadth of students involved. The position requires a candidate with deep commitment to educational access, a collaborative work style, strong execution and program oversight skills, and the capacity to serve as an inspiring role model and mentor to Dartmouth students and direct-report staff.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of work experience.
  • Celebration of and commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity and accessibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social impact work including nonprofits, educational access, or k-12 education.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and cultivate relationships with different stakeholders (students, community partners, staff, etc.).
  • Ability to educate about and enforce healthy boundaries when working with minors.
  • Experience with event or trip coordination and project management.
  • Proficient with computer applications (Word, Excel, Database Management, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • Exceptional teaching and facilitation skills and the ability to excite, inspire, engage and manage undergraduate students and student groups.
  • Knowledge of community-driven experiential learning and the best practices therein.
  • Strong self-awareness, interpersonal and collaborative abilities; demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with experience communicating across multiple stakeholder groups (faculty, community partners, students, parents, administrators, etc.)

  • Manages all aspects of program delivery, including student learning outcomes, logistics, budgets, record-keeping, and assessment, aligning with best practices.
