GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CNA Program Coordinator/Instructor will plan, coordinate, develop, and maintain licensure and state certification guidelines, and teach the Certified Nursing Assistant program for CCAPE at Cape Cod Community College. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and experienced educator, committed to preparing students to excel in the healthcare field, specifically in certified nursing. The position involves developing curricula, providing classroom and/or clinical instruction, coordinating student placements, and ensuring compliance with Massachusetts regulations for CNA training. Courses will vary based on enrollment and program needs.

Courses will vary based on enrollment and program needs.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Plan, coordinate, develop, and deliver classroom and clinical instruction for the CNA program in accordance with state regulations and program standards.
- Regularly meet and advise students related to this program.
- Present information sessions and advise prospective students on application criteria and program requirements.
- Develop a system of data collection and tracking evidence-of attainment of competencies and report on programs' outcomes including exam passage and job attainment.
- Coordinate and contract with, and maintain clinical placements for students, ensuring alignment with healthcare facilities' requirements and state certification guidelines.
- Maintain a positive relationship with clinical sites, funding sources, accrediting/licensing agencies, and peer programs at other Massachusetts community colleges.
- Creation of a program advisory committee, with planned meetings twice a year.
- Advise on marketing materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, mailing, digital ads) and coordinate promotion in collaboration with the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing and Director/Chief Workforce Development officer.
- Develop and maintain CNA program curricula, including updating course materials to reflect industry standards and regulatory changes.
- Participate in the assessment, development, and implementation of CNA curriculum courses and programs.
- Maintain and submit attendance, grades, student evaluations, and all required documentation and reports per established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with state requirements for CNA training, certification, and programmatic standards.
- Work collaboratively with academic nursing and allied health faculty and administration to coordinate lab space and align noncredit and credit programs, fostering pathways for students pursuing further nursing education.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success in healthcare careers.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Be a registered nurse with current Massachusetts licensure and at least two years of nursing experience, one of which must have been in a level II or level III long-term care facility.
- Ability to effectively train students as demonstrated by at least one year of experience in lesson planning, development of instructional materials, lesson delivery, student evaluation, and remediation in a health care role as an in-service coordinator, staff educator, or other health personnel instructor.
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse group of students.
- Commitment to promoting high standards of care and professional ethics in nursing education.
- Knowledge of local health and business communities and potential employment market for CNA graduates.
- Ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple priorities.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a supervisory role, particularly within healthcare education or clinical settings.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts state requirements and standards for CNA training programs.
- Experience coordinating student clinical placements and managing relationships with healthcare facilities.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Education, or a related field.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Spanish, or Brazilian Portuguese, or Haitian Creole.
- No allegations of abuse, neglect, or misappropriate found valid in an any MA facility or program found valid under MGL Chapter 111 §72F-72L.
- No allegations of Medicare or Medicaid fraud.
