Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Geography and Anthropology offers a range of programs including degrees in Anthropology, Geography, and Geospatial Sciences, minors in Anthropology, Environmental Studies, and Geography, and certificates in Geographic Information Sciences and Land Surveying. Our faculty conduct research on space and culture in our community and around the globe. They are passionate about teaching and researching with undergraduates. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in Land Surveying in the Department of Geography and Anthropology for the academic year 2024-2025. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Land Surveying. These courses are most often at an introductory level and include Construction Measurements, Surveying I, and Surveying I Lab.
  • Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus or online.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • A Master's, PhD or other terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Geospatial Systems Engineering, Geographic Information Sciences, or a closely related field is required.

OR
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Land Surveying Certification
  • Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
  • Experience with ESRI GIS and other Land Surveying-based software products
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
