Department Information

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handles cash. Sets up start up cash for registers

Job Summary

Provides direct support in the daily operation and supervision of the assigned facility. Oversees all student facility personnel, security, cash handling, risk management, equipment set-up and breakdown and customer service operations. Serves as the primary department liaison with all facility user groups and is responsible for all decisions in the absence of full-time facility staff.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. May act as shift manager, overseeing the attendants working within assigned area(s)
2. Oversees the facility operation, security and risk management including but not limited to providing care in emergency situations, performing building inspections, and reporting door issues
3. Supports the operation and mission of the department/division by completing additional tasks as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator of assigned areas
4. Prepares activity areas and sets up start up cash for registers
5. Produces reports and forms including but not limited to Shift Reports, Tender Reports, Facility Work Orders and Accident Reports
6. Trains and supervises assigned students
7. Provides assistance to other program areas as assigned
8. Serves as the primary contact with facility and group reservations
9. Performs activity space event setup and breakdown
10. Performs excellent customer service concerning departmental facilities, programs and services
11. Responds to inquiries concerning departmental facilities, programs and services in a timely and professional manner

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
One (1) year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the KSU recreation facilities, programs and services

Proposed Salary
  • Budgeted amount is $15.00 per hour


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Ability to work closing shifts several evenings a week and following closing procedures
Able to articulate and enforce all departmental policies and procedures
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of event procedures related to ADA compliance and fire safety
Knowledge of facility emergency action plans
Familiar with point-of-sale procedures, producing reports and verifying deposits

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
