Position Summary:
The Analysts 3: Informational Technology – Systems Analysis serves as a project manager for implementing College systems. Performs analysis of business processes and procedures to align business software to match College needs. Works with business units to gather and analyze requirements for design. Implements design solutions to improve data systems. Plans, coordinates, and reviews progress through all phases of project. Creates a variety of documentation including recording procedures, training materials, project decisions, and outcomes. Provides leadership to assigned staff.
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of complex business and systems problems. Provides technical and analytical support
- Provides technical direction on degree audit encoding requirements configured in the degree audit system. Evaluates system capabilities and audit results as they relate to federal, state and college mandates, policies and requirements. Processes documentation related to course catalog and the college's comprehensive degree audit system
- Serves as project manager providing technical leadership to assigned staff during planning, coordinating, and review through all phases of projects
- Evaluates the potential for automating existing or proposed work functions and processes. Designs new processes. Writes or modifies computer programs to meet user requirements
- Maintains, troubleshoots, develops and tests platforms and functional integration of these systems
- Provides leadership in acquisition, development, installation and implementation of assigned modules of the Enterprise and department administrative systems
- Provides technical support to users of administrative modules to ensure investment is maximized and users are able to perform necessary work functions
- Plans, develops, and presents Information Assurance and Cyber Security training programs for College Enterprise system
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field of study and
- Three to five years of related technical experience and current certifications
- An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
- Master’s degree in or a closely related field of study
- Knowledge of computer and network operating systems
- Skill in current and applicable computer programming languages relative to the assignment
- Skill in current and applicable hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
- Skill in problem solving
- Skill in coordinating and monitoring the work of others
- Skill in effective communication (both written and oral)
- Skill in project management principles, processes, and techniques
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technical environment
