Job Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator of Testing, the Testing Proctor provides exam proctoring of students for assessments, quizzes, and final exams. This position works as scheduled throughout the academic year.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Serve as proctor for a variety of testing activities (e.g. CLEP, TSI, instructional testing, professional certification exams, etc.) advising students on these tests.
- Explains testing center procedures and monitors students as they test
- Maintains a safe and calm testing environment at highest level of cleanliness and order
- Checks identification before testing and seat examinees for testing
- Assists customers with scheduling exams
- Processes and delivers test reports; maintain confidentiality of all records in accordance with FERPA
- Monitor entry and exit into the testing room, and enforce test security procedures before and during testing
- Organizes, distributes, and collects all test materials as directed
- Ensure all testers receive the appropriate testing accommodations as instructed by the Instructor or Disability Services
- Reports suspected irregularities in a timely manner to examinee supervisor or student development staff
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Testing
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma ( GED )
- Two (2) years’ working experience in customer service
- Certification for each exam if required for the Professional Certification Testing Center
- At least one (1) year’s working experience in test proctoring
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
- Skilled using testing software, computerized applications, and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to work outside normal hours in support of on-call assignments/events/processes/projects
- Ability to work with and support student success and assist the students with minimal interruption to others
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization, ensuring confidentiality and discretion

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
