Doctoral Research Chairs/Readers are essential to Liberty
University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is
expected that a Doctoral Research Chair models a personal
commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in
an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual
formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview.
Doctoral Research Chairs/Readers should view their guidance,
engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a
significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety
of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view
each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible,
provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Liberty University’s School of Business doctoral team is seeking multiple Remote Online Adjunct Doctoral Research Chairs (Committee Member) to guide doctoral candidates academically and spiritually. Primary responsibilities will include:
Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of research evidenced by intellectual and professional contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publication and conference presentations. Preference will be given to candidates with capstone, dissertation, or thesis mentorship experience and experience teaching research methods using online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas). Candidates must be able to work at a pace that will not delay the progress of a doctoral candidate toward timely completion of the doctoral degree.

- Provide detailed feedback specific to qualitative and/or
quantitative research methods
- Maintain communication with candidates to ensure compliance
with school doctoral program handbook(s) and university
policies
Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of research evidenced by intellectual and professional contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publication and conference presentations. Preference will be given to candidates with capstone, dissertation, or thesis mentorship experience and experience teaching research methods using online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas). Applicants MUST have a conferred degree in the following:
- DBA or PhD in Business OR
- PhD in Business Administration, Organization and Management,
Organizational Behavior and Development, and Organizational
Leadership
- Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting
agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University
- Must demonstrate expertise in qualitative and quantitative
research
- Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and
communication skills
- Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and Canvas
- Proven organizational skills and ability to complete
assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated strengths in teaching & mentoring at the
college level
