Job Summary/Basic Function
Job Summary:
The Department of Agricultural and Life Sciences welcomes applications for an adjunct
instructor for exercise science. This position will teach courses within exercise
science curriculum including but not limited to anatomy & physiology with lab,
biomechanics, Introduction to exercise science, applied exercise science.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty typically teach a maximum of 11 credit hours per semester
(undergraduate) primarily entry level courses in their area of specialty area.
• Teach undergraduate exercise science courses as assigned.
• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Evaluate and grade students’ class/lab work, assignments, and papers.
• Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Develop and use multimedia course materials and other current technology, such as online courses.
• Perform administrative duties as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate studies in the areas of exercise science,
exercise physiology, kinesiology, athletic training, or related field required.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
• Previous successful work experience with culturally diverse populations a plus.
• Cope effectively with adversity and demonstrate leadership skills that promote collegiality and cooperation.
• Committed to values of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

• Minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate studies in the areas of exercise science,
exercise physiology, kinesiology, athletic training, or related field required.
Preferred Qualifications

•Applicants with teaching experience, particularly in the
