The Position
The Director of Financial Aid, reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, is an integral part of Vanguard University's enrollment management division, providing leadership for the successful administration of the university's financial aid program in accordance and compliance with all federal, state and institutional regulations and policies, while fostering a student-centered approach to service. Working in a fast paced financial aid office, the Director provides strong leadership to members of the financial aid department, including the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, the Operations Specialist, and two financial aid counselors. The Director manages $60 million in federal, state and institutional financial aid for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Public Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000
Qualifications
- Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal
discipleship.
- Eight or more years of progressive experience in financial
aid.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous management experience is required, coupled with a
record of successful leadership and service reflecting integrity,
accountability, and the ability to achieve goals.
- Knowledge of current federal and state regulations and policies
regarding financial student aid, and familiarity with NASFAA
guidelines and best practices.
- Experience with financial aid optimization, awarding
institutional aid within budget and to maximize
enrollment.
- The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ellucian Colleague is the student information system, supplemented by Business Objects reporting.
