Job Summary

The School of Education and Counseling is pleased to be seeking applicants for two clinical faculty positions to begin August 2025.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Education Preparation program area and will be expected to (a) teach undergraduate courses within the education program at both campuses (Westville, IN & Hammond, IN); (b) cultivate and maintain relationships with cooperating teachers as field supervisors in community schools; (c) participate in service to the school, college, university, community, and profession.

Required Qualifications
  • A master’s degree or doctorate degree in Education from an accredited program
  • Minimum five years of experience teaching in K-12 classrooms
  • Demonstrated experience as an educator
  • Record of collaborative work with faculty, staff, and students

The College houses the Community Counseling Center that provides quality affordable mental health services and the Institute for Social and Policy Research, which uses social science and policy analysis methods to find solutions to educational, social, and health-related challenges facing the citizens of Northwest Indiana and the Chicago metropolitan region. The college is also home to the Willie T. Donald Exoneration Advisory Coalition to support those who have been wrongfully convicted in the state of Indiana .

School Profile

The School of Education and Counseling is accredited by the State of Indiana and is nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The Counseling Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs are accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
