The jobholder supervises HVAC Technician II’s and I’s and the PM Technician for all college facilities at all campuses; schedules and assigns work; inspects completed work for compliance with college standards and local and State building codes; assigns and ensures timely completion of all incoming HVAC Maintenance service requests; assists with other assignments as directed by the Director of Physical Plant; evaluates assigned personnel and makes recommendations for promotion/disciplinary actions to the Director of Physical Plant; supervises contracted services for HVAC and small renovation projects and reports progress/issues to the Director of Physical Plant; procures and keeps inventory of needed materials and equipment for daily HVAC Maintenance activities; coordinates work of supervised personnel with faculty/staff to minimize disruption to college activities and work flow; and ensures the department provides the utmost customer service to the end users.

$69,784.02 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

- High School Diploma
Experience Required
- 5 Years as a senior technician of HVAC team with in-depth experience with chill water systems, HVAC control systems and boilers
- 5 Years of experience working with and managing building automation controls systems, with proven ability to set up and modify control sequences for HVAC equipment.
KSA Required
- Basic knowledge of project management processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to nurture and continuously improve customer satisfaction levels with support services provided.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Ability to assist in the development of contract specifications for outside contractors and inspect work for compliance on small (less than $100,000) renovation projects.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of building practices and codes and OSHA standard practices.
- Basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of all types of tools and equipment necessary to support building and facility maintenance operations.
- Ability to move, lift, and carry heavy/bulky objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Significant climbing, crawling, or working in awkward or cramped positions, exposure to heights, work indoors and outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn material needed to become proficient in all areas of responsibility through on-the-job training, educational opportunities, seminars, periodicals, self-study, etc.
- Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing projects and priorities.
- Able to multi-task and manage multiple, simultaneous, and often unrelated projects and tasks.
- Ability to operate as part of a trained emergency response team at a moment’s notice.
- Ability to work at times other than scheduled hours.
- Ability to work in inclement weather, i.e. snow removal, etc.
- Ability to hear, talk, walk, stoop, bend, climb, and stand for durations as required to perform assigned duties.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.
- Acceptable criminal background report required.
