Health Professions Librarian – Librarian I
Towson University’s Albert S. Cook Library seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to serve as the Health Professions Librarian. Leads the library’s STM & Health Liaison Team. Plans and teaches information literacy in liaison area and other disciplines. This work includes continuously looking for ways to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice into public services. Assistant Professor
Tenure-track, 9-month position in the Department of Special Education beginning August 2025. Required: Earned Doctorate or ABD in Special Education, educational psychology or a closely related field. Birth-21 teaching or comparable experience in special education or closely related field. Knowledge of evidence-based practices for students with disabilities including one or more of the following: evidence-based literacy practices; socioemotional skills; classroom management and restorative practices; supporting students with Autism; or related area in special education. Evidence of commitment to effective instruction and evidence-based instructional practice for students with disabilities. Evidence of scholarly potential, including but not limited to doctoral research, research presentations, evaluation work, publications, and work in progress. Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills. Preferred: Experience with implementing or teaching evidence-based literacy practices for students with disabilities. Program or grant development, administration, or evaluation experience, particularly regarding preservice or in-service teacher education. Familiarity with practice-based teacher education. Faculty will be assigned standard instructional tenure-track workload of six course units per academic year (typically 3 course units/semester) with one-course reduction in first year. Assistant Professor
Tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty to support the Department of Health Sciences in the public health major. Full-time appointment will begin in August 2025. Faculty may teach at the undergraduate or graduate level based on expertise and the needs of the department. Salary is competitive and includes the State of Maryland benefits package. Rank will be determined based on qualifications at the time of appointment. Research Doctoral degree in a health sciences or related discipline. Education and expertise to teach courses across the department; subject areas may include public health, epidemiology, health education and promotion, public health policy and/or related health sciences content. Evidence of a scholarship agenda focused in an area of specialty in public health or closely related area. ABD applicants will be considered, but appointment will be at the instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2026. Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
Tenure-track appointment beginning August 2025. The Department seeks to fill one faculty position at either the assistant or associate professor rank. A Research Doctorate (excludes clinical practice doctorate) with expertise in a respective specialty area is required. Evidence of an active research agenda is also required. Candidate should have experience working with a diverse population. ABD applicants considered, with appointment at the instructor rank; all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2026. Two tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science beginning August 2025. Earned Research Doctoral degree by February 28, 2026. Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland; teaching experience in occupational therapy or occupational science; and active research agenda with capacity for scholarly productivity and external funding.
