Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television is actively seeking applications for an Assistant Professor position within the Department of Recording Arts. This is a full-time tenure-track faculty role with a competitive compensation package, including salary and benefits. The position is anticipated to start in the Fall Semester, 2025.

Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in Recording Arts/Audio, Film Production, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of three years professional experience in audio for music production/Film and TV.
- A minimum of two years teaching experience at the college level in the relevant areas.
- A robust professional background in music recording/production and proficiency in Pro Tools software and AVID hardware.
- Candidates should be well-versed in sound for film and television as well as music production.
- Hands-on experience with analog mixing consoles and analog recording equipment.
- Preferred candidates should have experience with teaching basic acoustics and psychoacoustics, as well as administrative experience.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Teach both graduate and undergraduate classes, focusing on Recording Arts for music applications.
- Ensure the effective application and realization of the Recording Arts course outcomes, and maintain a learning environment consistent with the University and School's mission.
- Advise students on both academic and professional career goals.
- Participate in various service responsibilities spanning the department, college, and university levels.
Position Expectations:
- The candidate will be expected to maintain currency in the field.
- The successful candidate will be expected to continue their research/creative work.
- The candidate should remain proficient in Pro Tools software and AVID hardware.
- The candidate should be skilled in operating equipment in a music recording studio environment.
