The School of Writing, Literature, and Film at Oregon State University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teaching of American Literature. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work engages one or more of the following areas of pre-1900 American literary studies: Native American, African American, and/or Latinx literature. We especially welcome candidates with a clear commitment to inclusive pedagogies and fostering access for marginalized, underrepresented students.

The position consists of research (20%), teaching (70%), and service (10%). The teaching load is seven courses over three quarters annually (fall, winter, and spring terms). Teaching responsibilities involve lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses, including general education courses, and/or graduate seminars in relevant literary traditions, including topics of the candidate's design.
