Faculty Position in Migration

Location: University of Notre Dame campus
Open Date: Sep 17, 2024
Deadline: Oct 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

Description: The University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs, in conjunction with the Notre Dame Poverty Initiative, is searching for an Associate or Full Professor who works in migration. The Keough School anticipates multiple hires in this area. Duties include research, teaching and service.

Each professorship will be based in the Keough School, which promotes interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research on critical issues in global affairs, transformative educational programs, and partnerships for global engagement. The Keough School approaches global affairs and development through a focus on integrated human development, which is also central to the University of Notre Dame's mission. Each successful candidate will be a core faculty member of the Klau Institute for Civil and Human Rights and an affiliated faculty member of the university's new population center, Notre Dame Population Analytics. These units will provide substantial resources to support research.

Qualifications:
Competitive candidates for this position will have a scholarly track record with evidence of high-quality research as well as experience or interest in policy engagement. Candidates should have a PhD in economics, political science, sociology or related fields. A successful candidate's research on migration will contribute to population studies and will exhibit policy and/or scholarly engagement with questions of human dignity and human rights.

The University of Notre Dame seeks to recruit and retain a diverse workforce as a reflection of our commitment to our Catholic tradition, to maintain the excellence of the University, and to offer our students richly varied disciplines, perspectives and ways of knowing and learning. The Keough School is committed to fostering a culture of diverse views and approaches to Global Affairs. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, or service has prepared them to contribute to our mission and commitment to diversity and excellence. All applicants whose scholarly pursuits will enhance our ability to fulfill that commitment are encouraged to apply.
