College for Health, Community and Policy
UTSA's College for Health, Community and Policy (HCAP) trains students to develop solutions for complex social issues to improve the well-being of our communities. By engaging directly with the City of San Antonio and other key community partners, students and faculty live the college's mission to advance human health every day. Department of Public Administration
The Department of Public Administration in the College for Health, Community and Policy at the University of Texas at San Antonio is located at UTSA's Downtown campus, the heart of San Antonio. The Department currently offers an undergraduate degree in Public Administration and Policy and a Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA). Position Summary
The Department of Public Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio seeks to fill one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2025. Those with research agendas in housing, energy, climate resilience, health services, and economic development are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses at the Main and Downtown Campuses and research and service in the Department of Public Administration.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Policy, or a closely related field by the time of appointment, along with demonstrated excellence in scholarly research, a passion for effective teaching, a commitment to service, and the promise of excellence in grant acquisition. Applicants who have not completed their doctoral dissertation (ABD) will be considered. The successful candidate must also have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of an urban population and support the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic-serving Institution and a model for student success. Teaching and research expectations are commensurate with Carnegie Research 1 institutions.
