Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under the leadership of the Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Assistant Director supervises the Welcome Center staff, and administers financial aid/scholarship programs. The Assistant Director will assist in daily counseling of students and works closely with the Enrollment Services Division on the recruitment and retention of students.
Resposibilities include the following:
- Serve as the Enrollment Services liaison and represents the
office at both on and off campus recruiting and yield events as
well as admitted student information sessions. Some evenings and
weekends required.
- Coordinate the financial aid awarding process by serving as a
liaison for multiple academic departments at the
College.
- Coordinate training, schedule support, and provide supervision
to the Welcome Center Staff. Oversees and manages Welcome Center
Staff to ensure quality customer service is provided to all who
interact with the Office of Financial Aid.
- Responsible for maintaining all records and databases used to
award institutional endowment aid. Coordinate institutional
endowment aid awarding processes for New student/applicants as well
as continuing students.
- Counsel new and continuing students in person and by telephone;
communicate financial aid options, policies and
procedures.
- In collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid, develop
and maintain scholarship and fund management policies to maximize
institutional awarding efforts and fiscal
accountability.
- Compile data and reports relating to scholarship programs, as
needed and requested by management.
- Responsible for coordinating all committee review efforts and
records while maintaining relationships with other key offices as
it relates to the awarding of institutional scholarship
aid.
- Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.
- Participate in staff and leadership development training
sessions to comply with federal and state regulations.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required or equivalent years of experience
and eduction;
- Minimum 3 years financial aid experience or other related
higher education experience;
- Supervisory experience with a focus of delivering exemplary
customer service;
- Knowledge of Title IV regulations and federal needs
analysis;
- Strong Communication, and interpersonal, and organizational
skills;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or
similar products. Knowledge ofGoogle applications
required.
- with knowledge of Banner a plus
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field
- Knowledge of Banner application systems a plus!

Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work in a team based environment.
