The World Affairs Council of Atlanta (the “Council”)
seeks a dynamic and visionary individual to serve as its next
President and set the course for an ambitious next chapter.
The Council’s mission is to provide a forum for
informed discussion of the global affairs that impact Metro Atlanta
and support the city’s transformation into an international
economic hub. Established in 2010, the Council is a non-partisan,
membership organization whose vision is to inspire Atlanta to lead
globally.
The Council convenes leaders from business,
diplomacy, politics, and nonprofit fields to drive dialogues on
urgent international issues and their local implications. The
Council’s high-quality programming leads to discussion and learning
by connecting its audience to world-class thought leaders and
creating purposeful networking opportunities.
Council matters are overseen by a Board of Directors
that includes senior business, civic, educational, and consular
leaders from across Metro Atlanta. The Council is a prominent
member of the World Affairs Councils of America and is affiliated
with Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of
Business. Leveraging the resources of these organizations, the
Council is a unique Atlanta asset at the crossroads where business,
civil society, and government leaders meet to effectively address
the global environment in which everyone lives and works.
Working closely with a high-level Board, the incoming
President will have the opportunity to create and implement the
Council’s vision for the future while leveraging its powerful
legacy. This individual should have senior leadership experience
and background related to world affairs to inspire the confidence
of the Board, staff, Council members, and other business,
government, and community leaders with global interests. The
President should be a highly effective and persuasive communicator
with the ability to connect and convene others to further the
mission of the Council. For more information on the Council, visit
the website at https://www.wacatlanta.org/
