Position Summary Information
Key Responsibilities
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering ( CEE ) at Juniata College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Civil Engineering to begin in Fall 2025 . The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and conduct scholarly research in structural engineering and be able to support geotechnical/general civil instructional needs; advise and mentor undergraduate students; participate in all aspects of the program’s activities; and serve the profession. Experience in aspects of material science and engineering is desirable desired, but not required.
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to help shape and grow a relatively new program and department and is expected to build on existing strengths and assist with the continued development and growth of the department. As a student-focused institution with a strong hands-on curriculum, we emphasize undergraduate education that provides technical excellence with a significant emphasis on real world applications. We are therefore seeking candidates with a strong passion for teaching and undergraduate research. Knowledge of the ABET process is also desirable.

Position Qualifications
1) an earned doctorate in civil engineering or a closely related field.; 2) have the interest and desire to teach at the undergraduate level; 3) a strong indication to contribute to the teaching mission of Juniata College; 4) a plan to develop an externally funded research program within the applicant’s area of expertise; 5) knowledge of ABET process
