The School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position at the level of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor in the area of biomechanics. We are interested in candidates with training and experience in any area of biomechanics relevant to movement and health sciences and whose research program enhances existing strengths and/or expands the scope of biomechanics within the Movement Science program. Candidates for this open faculty position will be expected to maintain a robust research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and have the research expertise appropriate for the effective mentoring of trainees at the undergraduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels in the area of biomechanics. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain extramural funding for an active research program at the University of Michigan.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in a related field such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Movement Science, Movement Science, Rehabilitation Science, Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Industrial and Operations Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Therapy, or Ergonomics. Experience mentoring and teaching undergraduate and graduate students, publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research, and a track record of securing or potential to secure (at the Assistant level) extramural research funding. Candidates should demonstrate their contributions to a positive workplace culture, aligned with our school’s core values.
