Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
The School of Music in the College of Music and Performing Arts at Belmont University is seeking applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in Applied Commercial Voice at the rank of Instructor or Professor of Practice, beginning August 1, 2025.
The primary responsibilities for this position include providing instruction in undergraduate and graduate commercial applied voice. Other courses in performance and style and or/direction of a vocal ensemble in the commercial genre may be included based on candidate’s background and area of expertise. An annual teaching load would include a combination of applied lessons and academic courses equaling a 24-hour teaching workload. Additional primary responsibilities include academic advising, maintaining scholarly/creative endeavors, student recruitment, and performing department, college, and university service.
The School of Music in the College of Music and Performing Arts at Belmont University is a premier comprehensive music unit consisting of 60 full-time faculty, 75 part-time adjuncts, and a population of over 750 students across 14 undergraduate and 5 graduate programs. As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is particularly seeking applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program. Required Experience Previous teaching at the collegiate level is preferred.
