The Department of Marketing, Agribusiness, and Supply Chain Management at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) is seeking a Lecturer or a Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management (SCM), depending upon credentials and experience, to begin August 2025. Lecturer candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and external stakeholder relationship building.  Tenure Track candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, scholarship, student retention and success, and external stakeholder relationship building.

Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of SCM is expected to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching a full-time course load. Primary teaching areas include Supply Chain and Operations Management; other potential areas of teaching include Negotiations, Materials Management and Purchasing, Transportation and Logistics, and other upper-division courses as necessary to meet the needs of the program. Conducting scholarly research in SCM and related areas that leads to publication in quality peer-reviewed journals Engaging in internal and external service activities, including developing SCM program relations with industry employers, and organizing on-campus SCM student activities (career fair, socials, bus field trips, case competition, and SCM program fund raising) Advising students and working with the SCM student organization Pursuing professional development

Required Qualifications: Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor:

  • Ph.D. or DBA in an SCM-related field. All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered if successful program completion is expected by May 2026. College teaching experience with proven teaching excellence
  • Proven ability to conduct high-quality research and quality publication history
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven experience in building relationships with potential employers and other external stakeholders

Required Qualifications: Lecturer

  • MBA degree and three years of SCM-related work experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven experience in building relationships with potential employers and other external stakeholders

  Preferred Qualifications:  Lecturer, Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor

  • University-level teaching experience Online teaching experience Proven experience leading a student organization Proven program fund-raising experience Proven experience in organizing and leading on-campus, program-related student activities

Start Date: August 2025.
