The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Wellesley College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Mexican Literary and Cultural Studies beginning Fall 2025.

Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Evidence of scholarly promise and excellent teaching at the undergraduate level is requisite, as is familiarity with language pedagogy and commitment to teaching language, literature, and culture at all levels. We seek a dynamic scholar in Mexican Literary and Cultural Studies specializing in the 20th and 21st centuries. An interdisciplinary understanding of the field is highly desirable. Areas of specialization may include Race and Ethnic Studies, Border Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, or Theater and Performance Studies.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per year.
