Position Title: Lecturer - Department of Marketing (Full Time)

Department: College: College of Business

Location: 331 Powers Hall

Open Date: Jul 23, 2024

Description

The Department of Marketing in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for one full-time (nine month), non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer. The position is term-limited and renewable annually based on performance and availability of funding. The compensation package is competitive and includes benefits. With sufficient time in rank and performance, promotion to Senior Lecturer and, ultimately, Principal Lecturer can be earned.

While primary responsibilities include teaching four (4) in-person undergraduate courses in both the fall and spring semesters, there may be opportunities to teach graduate, online, and summer courses. Immediate teaching needs include International Marketing and Social Media Marketing. However, the selected applicant may be asked to teach various courses, such as Consumer Behavior, Principles of Marketing, Services Marketing, Marketing Research, Digital Marketing, Advertising and Promotional Strategy, and/or other classes based on areas of expertise. Course teaching assignments typically include two to three preps per year and may vary across semesters.

For these reasons, applicants will be evaluated, in part, on their ability to teach a wide variety of courses effectively. The selected applicant will also be expected to contribute to the department, college, and university through serving on committees.

The preferred start date is January 1, 2025, but an August 2025 start will be considered.

Clemson University is a premier land-grant, competitive admissions institution with approximately 22,000 undergraduate students. The Department of Marketing currently has approximately 950 undergraduate students, 30 masters students, 13 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, three clinical faculty members, and ten full-time lecturers/professors of practice.

Clemson University is currently ranked 30th among national public universities (U.S. News & World Report) and is designated as a Carnegie R1 research university. Clemson is a college town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, located on the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte and is 30 miles outside of Greenville, SC. Greenville has recently been named as a “Top-10 Fastest Growing U.S. City [#4]” (CNN), “Most Fun, Affordable Cities [#5]” (Bloomberg BusinessWeek), and “Best City for Young Adults [#13]” (Forbes).
