The School of Governance and Policy Science (SGPS) has been established under the Faculty of Social Science with effect from 1 August 2024. The School will be dedicated to the science of governance and public policy, hosting the following academic programmes (listed in alphabetical order):

Undergraduate Programmes
BSSc in Data Science and Policy Studies
BSSc in Global Studies
BSSc in Government and Public Administration

Postgraduate Programmes
MPhil-PhD in Government and Public Administration
MSSc in Global Political Economy
MSSc in Government and Politics (Greater China)
MSSc in Public Policy

The School aspires to become an internationally respected innovator and educator in theory-informed and evidence-based public policy and government practices in local, national and global contexts. It strives to be one of the most trusted global thought leaders in governance and policy science. To achieve its goals, the School will encourage, incentivize and support interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary education and research in governance and policy science. The Faculty is inviting applications for the post(s) of Senior Lecturer(s)/ Lecturer(s) for the School. Applications are welcome from both fresh PhD graduates and experienced academics who possess expertise in international relations and/or public policy and administration.

Applicants should have
(i)    a relevant PhD degree;
(ii)    relevant teaching or working experience at the university level/tertiary education level;
(iii)    demonstrated capability for high-quality teaching at the tertiary education level; and
(iv)    strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.

The appointee(s) is/are expected to
(a)    teach and manage undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to international relations and/or public policy and administration;
(b)    supervise students' projects;
(c)    organize and engage in activities related to interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teaching and research; and
(d)    undertake academic administrative service.

The appointment(s) will initially be made on fixed-term contract basis for up to two years commencing August 2024, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.

Review of applications has commenced from April 2024 on a rolling basis. Applications will be considered until the posts are filled.
