Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer (holding the title of Deputy Director of Field Instruction) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref. 529997) to commence on 1 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should be a registered Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work or a related discipline and at least 15 years’ direct practice experience in social welfare sector. Preference will be given to those with higher academic qualifications and expertise in teaching. Those who possess supervisory and management level experience and a track record of building up good network with local NGOs would have an advantage.
The appointee is responsible for fieldwork coordination, arrangement of placements, field teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, and other duties as assigned by the Department.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract end-gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
