Job Description:
The Department of Chemistry at Syracuse University invites applicants for a tenure track assistant professor position. Applications in all subdisciplines will be accepted, with those with strong research intersections in Medicinal Chemistry are of particular interest. Applicants with training in hit to lead development, antibody based drugs, pharmacokinetics, functional peptide designs, novel drug discovery or delivery, novel peptide designs or bioinspired nanomaterials are of interest. The successful candidate will join a growing cohort of faculty in medicinal chemistry or closely related fields. The department encourages interdisciplinary research that spans multiple departments, institutes, and colleges and is committed to diversity and inclusion in higher education, as well as educational outreach in the surrounding Syracuse city community. Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.





Job Specific Qualifications:
  • Postdoctoral experience or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in research.


Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an active, externally funded research program.
  • Teach courses in areas of expertise at all levels.
  • Supervise and mentor undergraduate, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
