The Citadel invites applications for a tenure-track position in U.S. History with a specialization in African American History at the rank of Assistant Professor. Teaching responsibilities will include:
- Upper-level, graduate, and general education courses.
- The standard teaching load is four classes per semester, consisting usually of two preparations. Course reductions are typically available every third semester.
A commitment to undergraduate teaching and demonstrated scholarly activity are sought. Ph.D. by date of employment is strongly preferred. Must be in the process of obtaining a Ph.D.The department offers a full range of courses in the undergraduate program, and two online MA degrees, one in Applied History, and one in Military History.
The availability of yearly grants totaling up to $5000 to support faculty research, presentation and development is an attractive feature of academic life at the college.
