FACULTY POSITION: PASTORAL THEOLOGY & HOMILETICS
The Graduate School of Theology at Mount Angel Seminary (Saint Benedict, OR) seeks a new faculty member eager to participate in the Seminary's mission of priestly formation and invites applications for a full-time position in Pastoral Theology & Homiletics, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin August 2025.
Ideal candidates will be pastoral theologians with significant experience in pastoral ministry capable of offering instruction in homiletics. Candidates should hold a terminal degree or pontifical license in pastoral theology and must be excellent teachers able to offer a range of core courses in pastoral theology and homiletics as members of a vibrant and engaged formative community within the context of a communion ecclesiology centered curriculum as part of the Seminary’s MDiv, MA (Theology), and DMin programs.
Mount Angel Seminary, an apostolate of the Benedictine monks of Mount Angel Abbey, is comprised of a Graduate School of Theology and a College of Liberal Arts accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The Seminary’s primary purpose is the human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation of men for the Roman Catholic priesthood; its programs adhere to the norms established by the Holy See and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as stated in the Program of Priestly Formation (6th ed.). Mount Angel Seminary also offers theological education to qualified laymen and women.
