Job Summary
The incumbent assists faculty in developing/redesign of online courses, creating learning products, such as video tutorials, instructional media, learning simulations, exams, and assessments.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
- Knowledge of Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Software
- Audio and video editing skills
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Good critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems
- Understanding of web design best practices
- Experience with design platforms, such as InDesign
- Familiarity with course management systems such as Canvas
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
- Trains faculty and students on how to use learning technologies
- Assists in transforming face-to-face courses to an online format
- Analyzes, updates, and refines current online content
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to design online course content
- Assists in editing online learning materials
- Assists in creating student-engaged learning experiences and environments
- Assists in designing learning activities, assignments, and assessments
- Research innovative technologies and review current courses to determine the best ways to optimize the learning process
- Tracks the progress of course designs
- Keeps current on best practices in instructional design
- Writes scripts for video and audio content
- Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems
