Cottey College, a private liberal arts and sciences college for women, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions in art, starting August 2025. We are looking for motivated candidates who are interested in teaching a broad range of courses in a student-centered, collaborative environment. The preferred candidates will have earned a terminal degree in art, either an MFA or a Ph.D., have shown a record of excellence in undergraduate teaching, and have demonstrated evidence of their own creative practice.

We seek applicants who are excited to teach foundational courses (drawing, painting, ceramics, etc.), digital courses (digital photography, digital art, graphic design, etc.), and courses that place the study of art within relevant historical and cultural contexts. These courses support Cottey’s art minor and general education curriculum. Faculty have the opportunity to advise and mentor students, sponsor student organizations, and participate in the life of the College. Art faculty are also responsible for The P.E.O. Foundation Art Gallery that is used for the exhibition of artwork of students and regional and national artists, and that is supported by a College endowment. Art faculty are also responsible for demonstrating, maintaining, and supervising the safety standards of the art department.

Cottey College, located in Nevada Missouri, has offered young women the opportunity to learn and grow since 1884. The successful candidate will have demonstrated favorable results in working with diverse populations.
