Lecturer of Human Services
Lander University
The Department of Psychological Science & Human Services at Lander University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Human Services to start in August 2025. This is a non tenure-track position with the possibility of promotion. Salary is competitive and based upon relevant experience.
Eligible candidates should possess a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a regionally accredited institution and be licensed in South Carolina with the Licensed Independent Social Work – Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) credential or be eligible for this license. Candidates should have credentials to teach a variety of courses for the Human Services major and Pre-Social Work minor. The successful candidate must be able to teach Intro to Human Services, Intro to Social Work, and Lifespan Development as well as courses related to their specialization.
University-level teaching experience is preferred, other related experience will be considered. The candidate should be committed to teaching excellence, willing to contribute to collaborative efforts in recruitment, retention, and overall departmental growth, and work effectively with a diverse student population. This position would involve teaching at the main campus in Greenwood and possibly online. Summer teaching assignments are available.
Teaching load is 30 hrs. per year (5 courses per semester) plus service activities such as advising and mentoring students. Lander supports on-going training and professional development through its Center for Faculty Excellence.
The Department offers a B.S. in Psychology, a B.S. in Human Services and minors in Child and Family Studies, Human Services, Psychology, and Pre-Social Work, both face to face and online.
