About this Opportunity
The Department of Anthropology at Ball State University invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor beginning August 2025.
The successful applicant will instruct upper-division courses in bioarchaeology, forensics, and quantitative analysis, along with introductory courses across the sub-disciplines (biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and archaeology).
The teaching load for this role is 4 courses per semester (fall and spring) on campus, though some courses may be delivered online.

Description
The Department of Anthropology at Ball State University invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor beginning August 2025.
The Department of Anthropology has approximately 78 majors and 31 minors with 6 faculty members. Faculty expertise spans archeology, biological, cultural, and medical anthropology. Students are supported by a range of engaged learning opportunities, such as study abroad, internships, field schools, and immersive learning.
Minimum Qualifications
A PhD degree in anthropology from an accredited college or university by the date of appointment.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
A PhD in biological anthropology, with a specialty in bioarchaeology or forensics by date of appointment. A background in quantitative methods and analysis. Teaching experience at the College or University level.
