The Department of Information Systems in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for multiple positions at the open rank of Clinical Professor with appointments beginning in Spring 2025.   

Essential Functions:  The candidate must contribute to the Department of Information Systems’ mission in the areas of research, teaching and service, and must be able and willing to teach AI in business, business analytics and information systems courses to both undergraduate and graduate students.


Required Qualifications:
Clinical Assistant Professor – 1) A Ph.D. in business administration, information systems or related field by or close to position start date; 2) Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by organization and communication skills or strong teaching evaluations; 3) A record of scholarship as evidenced by professional experience within the information systems and/or business analytics profession, an active learning agenda, and papers, articles, tutorials, or manuals.

Clinical Associate Professor – 1) A Ph.D. in business administration, information systems or related field; 2) The equivalent of 5 years of full-time teaching at a 4-year institution. Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by good teaching evaluations, course innovation, organization and communication skills; 3) A record of scholarship as evidenced by professional and/or academic experience within the information systems and/or business analytics profession, an active learning agenda, and papers, articles, tutorials, or manuals.

Clinical Professor – 1) A Ph.D. in business administration, information systems or related field; 2) Sustained long-term excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as evidenced by strong teaching evaluations, course innovation, organization and communication skills; 3) The equivalent of 7 years of full-time teaching at a 4-year institution. Demonstrated leadership record of scholarship as evidenced by professional and/or academic experience within the information systems and/or business analytics profession, an active learning agenda, and papers, articles, tutorials, or manuals.

Desired Qualifications:
1) Excellence in teaching information systems and/or business analytics courses; 2) Significant service and professional contributions to the information systems and/or business analytics profession; 3) Experience with training and industry partnerships. 4) Teaching experience in a variety of platforms, including executive, onsite, hybrid, online, graduate and undergraduate levels.

  3. teaching statement including philosophy and programming languages proficiency
  4. evidence of teaching competency/teaching evaluations
  5. list of ASU CIS courses that you are interested in teaching and
  6. a list of references
