The School of Education (SOE) in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for a nine-month appointment for a tenure-track faculty position in higher education and student affairs at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Iowa State University and the School of Education are committed to building on a strong history of national leadership in the area of higher education and student affairs. Specifically, we seek a dynamic, innovative, and enthusiastic colleague to join our student affairs and higher education programs. In addition to engaging in scholarly research and serving on master's and doctoral committees, we seek a colleague who will teach core courses in Student Affairs and Higher Education and who will collaborate in support of our thriving in-person cohort-based student affairs master’s program. Though we are open to various areas of research specialization and methodological approach, we are particularly interested in scholars who have a line of inquiry and/or background in teaching focused on one or more of the following (listed alphabetically): (a) college student access and success, (b) college student learning and development; (c) organization, policy, and governance or (d) student affairs administration. Additionally, we are interested in scholars whose research focus and teaching interests cut across multiple student populations and institutional types in postsecondary education and who use advanced research methods.
