The Program in Film and Media Studies at Yale University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Hollywood Film and Media, beginning July 1, 2025. The successful applicant should be a scholar with broad-ranging expertise in Hollywood cinema, with demonstrated interest in incorporating global media culture (such as radio, television, fashion, popular music, or digital media) into their research and teaching. We welcome applications from scholars with a secondary focus in areas such as race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, class and national identity, comparative arts, creative industries, infrastructure, internet culture, sound, diaspora and migration, and area studies.
Qualifications
The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. at time of hire. Fluency in any languages relevant to the appointee’s specialized areas of research is expected.
